Indian Forest Service Examination, 2011
The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2011 commencing from 09th July, 2011
The examination will be held at various centres across the country
For details regarding the Syllabi and scheme of the examination, centres of examination, guidelines for filling up application form etc the candidates must refer to the detailed notice of the examination published in the employment news/rozgar samachar dated 19th March, 2011


Conditions of eligibility
Age limits: Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years on 01st July, 2011
The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the notice
Educational qualifications: Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification
Candidates who qualify on the basis of results of the written part of the examination will be summoned for personality test
Physical standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the regulations given in appendix-II of rules for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2011 published in Gazette of India dtd 19th March, 2011
Number of attempts: The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows

General category-04 (four); OBC-07 (seven); SCs/STs-No limit
How to apply: Candidates are required to apply online only using the link http://www.upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above mentioned website
The candidates residing in certain remote areas have the option to apply off-line by using the New Common Application Form (Form-E) devised by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 30/- (Rs thirty only). Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination
In case of any difficulty in obtaining application forms from the designated head post offices/post offices, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned post master or UPSC’s forms supply monitoring cell over Tel 011-23389366, Fax 011-23387310, or
The candidates are required to apply online using the link www.upsconline.nic.in. Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given in the employment news dtd 19.03.2011. It may be noted that all off-line applications, if any, received from candidates residing in normal areas/abroad, shall be summarily rejected by the commission. The option of off-line application is available only to candidates residing in specified remote areas
Fee: Candidates applying online are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only) either by remitting the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card
Candidates residing in certain remote areas who apply off-line through New Common Application Form (Form-E) are required to pay Rs 200/- (Rs two hundred only) through central recruitment fee stamp only
Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from payment of Fees (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees)
Address and last date for receipt of applications
On-line (from all candidates): The on-line applications can be filled up to 18th April, 2011 till 11.59 p.m. after which the link will be disabled
Off-line (from candidates residing in specified remote areas only): All off-line applications from candidates residing in remote areas only, must reach the Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan road, New Delhi-110069 by post/speed post only, on or before the25th April, 2011
It may be noted that no application will be received by hand or by courier
Facilitation counter and website for guidance of candidates: In case of any guidance/information/ clarification regarding their application, candidature etc candidates can contact UPSC’s facilitiation counter near ‘C’ gate of its campus in person or over Tel 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
